Allama Shibli Numani (rah.) was a great Muslim philosopher and Sufi.


Once upon a time, in India (Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Burma...) before 1947, it was thought that Western (European) philosophy was a derailed philosophy.


Furthermore, it was also thought that the philosophies of Aristotle and Plato were derailed.


At first, as an Indian philosopher, Allama Shibli Numani perfectly combined European philosophy with Indian Muslim philosophy.


He proved that European philosophy was 'totally' never a derailed philosophy.


Influences of Allama Shibli Numani ✒


Allama Shibli Numani founded the modern Indian Muslim school (though).


Next, many Indian Muslim scholars were influenced by Allama Shibli Numani.


Mawlana Abul Kalam Azad,


Allama Sayed Suleyman Nadwi,

Dr. Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal,

Allama Jafar Ahmad Usmani

Allama Shibbir Ahmad Usmani,  

Mawlana Shofi Usmani,  

Sayed Abul A'la Maududi,  

Syed Abul Hassan Ali Nadwi… were strongly influenced by Allama Shibli Numani (rah.).  


Even Sayed Ashraf Ali Thanwi (rah.) was also influenced by Allama Shibli Numani.  


It is said that Allama Shibli Numani was influenced by the Western philosopher Sir Thomas Arnold.  


However, it is true that Thomas Arnold himself was well-acquainted with Muslim philosophy through Allama Shibli Numani (rah.).
